Celebrating our 2023 Graduates

On June 22nd, we gathered in the Hand-Purvis Conference Room to celebrate the hard-earned graduation of our students. Among the attendants were students, parents, friends, faculty members, and staff.

Department Head Sumon Majumdar gave an encouraging congratulatory speech to the graduates, imparting some wisdom and tips for their futures:

"Alum didn't immediately leap from the QED into their current well-deserved positions of importance, but hopefully like them, the knowledge and skills you acquired here will boost you in your future careers and in the important decisions you will no doubt be asked to make. You may or may not recall all the first-order conditions you derived here, but hopefully you will take with you the importance of rigorous, internally-consistent arguments and the use of well-grounded, statistical evidence in formulating decisions in any career you choose."
