The main purpose of the course is to provide a link between economic theory, on the one hand, and econometric methods, on the other, by examining a range of contemporary empirical applications. The course is not designed merely to illustrate methods; rather to expose the student to the art of structural model-building for the purpose of advancing economic theory. Applications of econometrics to policy appraisal will also be covered. The course is suitable for specialists and non-specialists alike.
