This seminar focuses on the economic evaluation of environmental and climate policies in Canada and other countries worldwide. The learning objectives are (i) applying economic theory to real-world challenges through hands-on case studies and (ii) improving communication skills. Students are expected to: Engage in in-class discussion of recently published studies and policy briefs (with the instructor's support for preparation); Complete the case studies with the instructor's step-by-step guidance; Write a brief review of a policy evaluation by the Government of Canada or similar documents from other countries (the instructor will help students identify the relevant studies).
